On November 11th, Quakertown Fire Company Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder Dagon Emerson was awarded the NJ EMS First Responder of the Year Award at the Annual NJ EMS Awards in Atlantic City. FF/EMR Emerson, a Franklin Twp resident, was chosen from nominees from events that occurred across the state during the last year.
The award was presented to FF/EMR Emerson based upon his actions at the tragic motor vehicle accident on June 30th in Franklin Twp on Pittstown Road. FF/EMR Emerson was a few cars behind the accident and took immediate action to help remove a trapped occupant and use his patient care skills.
This is the first Statewide EMS Award ever presented to a Quakertown Fire Company volunteer.
