The Franklin Twp Fire District No. 1 (Hunterdon County) held its annual elections on Saturday, Feb 20th from 2 to 9pm.  The reduced tax levy of $305,000 was rejected by voters 72 to 55.  Incumbents Chip Milcarek and Bill Enea ran unopposed and received 76 and 78 votes respectively.

 

The Fire District Commissioners and volunteer firefighters are tremendously disappointed with the results however services will not be compromised as the commission works with the Franklin Twp Committee to resolve the budget issue.
